Leonard Sweet is one of the most important Christian voices speaking to the church today. I had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Sweet speak on the topic of "Being There" a year or two before, and when I heard that he was taking that subject and expanding it into a book, I was quite excited.When I actually found the book, the title and cover threw me for a loop. "Jesus Drives Me Crazy?" Dropping a can of nuts on the ground? Hmmm... Second thoughts started creeping into my head. However, based on the power and message of what I'd heard Dr. Sweet say, I went ahead and bought it. I was so glad that I did...
Thankfully, the book itself is just as good, if not perhaps even a little better, than I had hoped, and Dr. Sweet even expanded it from "Be There" to "Be There With All." The concept of "being there" - knowing your face (character) and knowing your place (context) - is something that every Christian needs to hear and take to heart. Even though it's now been four years since I heard Dr. Sweet speak, and a couple of years since I first read this, the message still rings in my head as loud and as clear as the first time I heard it.
God bless Leonard Sweet for having the courage to use his God-given character in our seemingly God-forsaken context, and being a voice that God has used to bring about change in my life. Read this book, and see how God challenges you to be there with all...

I think This book is a complete waist of time and money. The price of $.95 is a statement of it's value. Every page is work to read and understand. The content is all over the place like ADHD had a hand in this. The book contains 36 pages of references and index at the end and was most probably put there to document unconnected ideas and to take up space. If you are trying to understand more about Christianity and our relationship with God - THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO FIND IT! We read this book as a sundy school project and chose to abandon it as a bad idea. I don't normally go off on things like this. (Bad ideas get thrown in the trash) But this is so extreem I just had to.
Good read for those possibly looking go CRAZY over Jesus. One thing to mention though- I love this book, but the author uses big words in the beginning and uses a lot of references, which isn’t bad but I won’t hand this book to a youth and expect them to completely understand it lol otherwise, CRAZY fun read lol
As the previous review said, this book is much better than the cover or the title lets on. Sweet has another brilliant book in which he explores the incarnation and the contextualization of the gospel. I will include a couple meaningful quotes.

I definately recommend this book to those seeking to live out the gospel in their present world.
Jesus Drives Me Crazy challenges believers to get out of their comfort zones and be radical followers of Christ. Sweet defines what Christ followers should really look like. In a way only Len Sweet can gets in your face with challenging words to make you think. We need more writers and leaders who make us think about who we are, what we are, and where we are going. This book is a great boost to help you rethink how you approach your Christianity and encorporate other cultures and other people into our world. Christ never meant for us to exclude one another and Sweet helps us to see how universal life really is if we open ourselves up to the reality of it. All that to say it is an amazing book, worth your time to pick it up and read it.
Sweet wrote this book to help those of us that are Christ's followers (aka disciples) that what to think about what on earth we are doing. This is not to say that this is a book that requires a PhD in Theology to understand. It is a book that you don't just pick up, do a quick read, and say "well that we nice". It is a book that you read, and say "so how does that effect how I do life right now???"
